Picture is a screenshot of the second half of my assignment for Week 1 of IST 511. I was asked a few questions to become familiar with the tool bar in iLearn. The question is to List three celebrities that annoy me the most and explain why. I wrote Sarah Jessica Parker, because I am jealous of her designer clothing and living in New York City, NY. Second was Kathy Lee Giffered because she is obnoxious and the third and last is Kelly Ripa for being load. I really don't dislike these artists, this was just for the assignment.

Assignment -Dark chocolate or milk chocolate?

Feedback from my classmates.

In addition to feedback, my classmates shared articles, and videos.  Varieties of chocolate continue to be created and are available for us in local markets. Quality of, and the amounts of the ingredients varies for dark chocolate, milk dark chocolate, and white chocolate.  The debate continues on about the classification of white chocolate.

The following list are just a few points shared by my classmates and our Professor.
  • Well made dark chocolate usually contains less sugar than milk chocolate. This is not the rule, there are exceptions.
  • People tend to consume less dark chocolate than milk chocolate due to the increased amount of cholesterol- neutral fat and polyphenols..
  • Cocoa contains a high amount of copper, and iron.
  • Well made milk chocolate has some of the same health benefits as dark chocolate.
  • Well made milk chocolate has been undervalued and has been getting a bad reputation by the media.
  • Dark and milk chocolate is enjoyed in drinks, meals, and desserts. Someday it may even be classified as a medication.
  • Vienna has specialty chocolate stores.
  • Luxembourg has a hot chocolate house and the hostess serves a drink of steaming hot milk and a chunk of chocolate on a stir stick.  They have over 50 flavors to select from.
  • There is a fifty percent appreciation for dark and milk chocolate.

Question:  Dark Chocolate or Milk Chocolate?

Pose a question-
One that couldn't possibly have a correct answer and is about nothing of importance. This will be answered by the person who responds to your post.

Post your response-
Classmate,
Thank you for sharing the milk chocolate drink video with me.  I did not have any problems with the video file.  Appreciate you being concerned.  I enjoyed reading your experience in Luxembourg, and visiting the special restaurant.  It must have been fun being served a large chunk of chocolate on a stick to swirl around your hot cup of milk as it melts.  I can’t imagine having over 50 flavors to select from.

Dana

Classmate,
I appreciate you replying to my question about your preference on dark or milk chocolate.  The information you shared about dark chocolate is useful.  I want to learn more about the benefits of dark chocolate, especially when it helps us stay young.

Dana

Classmate,
Thank you for replying to my question about your preference of dark or milk chocolate.  I really enjoyed the photograph you posted of the beautiful truffles.   I agree with you, dark and milk chocolate are delicious.  You and Rouwaida wrote about the benefits of eating dark chocolate, good news is always appreciated.  By eating smaller quantities of dark chocolate, we will satisfy our cravings.  I would really enjoy visiting Vienna.  When you have time, I would enjoy learning about your personal experience in the chocolate stores.

Dand

Classmate,
Thank you for replying to my question about dark or milk chocolate preference.  I am looking forward to try chipotle flavored chocolate, sounds delicious.  There is a South American chicken recipe served with a sauce called mole. The two main ingredients are hot peppers and chocolate.   I have been missing out on some delicious snacks and dishes.    Appreciate your tip on the chipotle chocolate bar.

Dana

Classmate,
Your timing is perfect.  Thank you for sharing the recipe for the chocolate covered baguettes.
I read the article, “Election night, bread, chocolate and red wine” from the website, LOVE – the secret ingredient.   To make the chocolate covered baguettes I will find the ingredients from my corner market.  The instructions for the recipe seem easy to follow.  I will be returning to the website for other recipes and ideas.  I learned a lot about chocolate today, thank you for replying to my question dark or milk chocolate.

Dana

Classmate,
I read the article, “The Rise of Awesome Milk Chocolate” by Marissa Sertich Velie.  You found a great article, and I learned a lot about chocolate.  Milk chocolate continues to be undervalued.  I thought most milk chocolate bars contained less cacao than a dark chocolate bars.  I learned that a chocolate bar’s cocoa percentage is important, but there are other factors influencing the overall taste and quality.  Thank you for sharing this article with me.

Dana
