Course Description"The focus is on developing students’ abilities to explore, learn, and use new technologies that will be necessary for their success in the Instructional Science and Technology graduate program.
Students will expand their awareness of core digital terms, concepts, will become efficient in the use of fundamental digital tools, and software, which are industry standards used in communication, audio/video production, photographic and multimedia design, numerical analysis, social networking, and computer-enhanced learning." Learning Outcomes
Development and demonstration of knowledge and abilities for the following outcomes:
1. Demonstrate self-directed study skills in learning of new technology; utilizing user guides, the Internet, computer-based tutorials, and collaborative peer support. (Digital Literacy).
2. Demonstrate the ability to create instructional materials using standard productivity software (MS Office), communication/collaboration systems (my.csumb.edu), Google tools, file transfer (Secure Shell/Home Server), video capture and editing; web conferencing, and other specialized software, net services and systems required in the IST program (Digital Production)
3. Demonstrate multimedia project development, time management and documentation. (Project Management)
4. Demonstrate the ability to critique and give constructive feedback on instructional materials. Demonstrate professional communication skills, especially within an online environment, while working on time-sensitive projects (Professionalism)."
